STRENGTHS:
sound clarity is amazing.
WEAKNESSES:
Grills are a bit open (personal taste) for marine use, but look nice.
REVIEW:
Installed the DB-651's in my Rinker 342 boat (4 pairs!), replacing the stock Kenwoods and what an improvement! Reviews were all good on these from other boaters and certainly worth the upgrade. They sound great!

STRENGTHS:
Marine grade and good looks makes these speakers a good match for modern boats. I forgot to mention the awesome sound quality too, but you already knew that. Super easy installation using factory screw holes and cutouts had each pair installed under 30 minutes.
WEAKNESSES:
none.
REVIEW:
Replaced four factory marine speakers in our 2005 Yamaha SX230 boat with four of these. Still using the stock JVC head, too. What a night and day difference! Plenty of highs and bass response. Any music we listen to sounds mucho improved. I'm going to consider upgrading the speakers now in our vehicles.

Absolutely love these speakers. I got them to replace the factory speakers in my Acura. Ive purchased Infinity speakers for my other cars and loved them but I decided to try Polk speakers. I was amazed they sound better than the infinity reference series and have comparable power ratings. These are incredible and well worth the money.

REVIEW:
Amazing sound at affordable price. Got them for Christmas to replace my rear speakers on a SCION xB '09, that were lacking brilliance on the back. When I installed one door, I did a sound check head to head and it was a pleasant surprise. The mids and highs were crisp clear, very well defined. The original speaker sounded dull, and limited to mid lows. I play guitar and pay special attention to the instrument's sound. Sound is so clear that I am considering to buy another pair for the front.

STRENGTHS:
Clean sound they overpower my back factory speakers right now by far until I get my 6X9's installed. Excellent Speakers indeed.

These speakers really rock w/ my eclipse stereo cant wait to get the 6X9's in the back by POLK.

STRENGTHS:
Great crisp clean sound!!!!!!!!! these speakers are so loud i can't even crank my CD player up over 25 or 30 but the sound is well worth the price!!!!!!!!

REVIEW:
I just installed these coaxials plus a pair of component 6.5 speakers in the front and in the back. i put them in a 1990 eagle talon and i am amazed with the sound and performance WELL WORTH THE PRICE!!!! i also have a 12" MTX jackhammer and a 400 watt amp this system is incredible!! it's alot of sound crisp clean LOUD sound IT'S GREAT i highly recommend these speakers to anyone looking for great sound with a great price!!!!! i hope to get a 4-channel amp to hook up to all the polk speakers but even with just my head unit pushing the polks it sound great i couldn't be happier

STRENGTHS:
Great midbass response. Smooth highs.
WEAKNESSES:
The grill is a little too flashy but at least it's not chrome.
REVIEW:
Wow, what a great set of speakers at this price point. I installed two pairs of these in a Trailblazer. I tested them out with head unit power first to make sure everything worked. I immediately noticed an improvement. I couldn't wait to hook these up to an amplifier. I hooked up a JL a6450 to all four of these speakers and was blown away. I thought they were well worth the money at head unit power but if you give these things some real power, that's when they really shine. Tight, punchy midbass and silky smooth highs. The woofer and tweeter meshed together better than many more expensive and over-engineered component sets. The aesthetics are probably a little more appealing to the younger crowd but as long as nothing in the sound department was compromised, these get my highest rating.

STRENGTHS:
Excellent mid-bass! Great sound for this price range.
WEAKNESSES:
The tweeters tend to get very sharp at high volumes, but an adjustment in the treble of the HU can cure that.
REVIEW:
I have a pair of these in the front of my 07 civic powered by a hifonix txi 6406 at 85w rms/channel. Hi pass is set at 35hz and these speakers really deliver the bass! I have a momo 8-inch sub in the back, but these speakers go so loud and low the bass seems to come from the front. Tip: Deaden your front doors if you play it loud or the door panels will rattle like crazy!

REVIEW:
I just purchased the Polk Audio DB651 6 1/2" speakers.
Their on a 2006 Toyota Corolla Ce in the front door location where the factory 6 1/2" used to be.I broken them in before I really pushed them. So far these speakers have went past my expectation for a quality pair of speakers! They are worth every penny I spent at Circuit City and the installation their was professional!They have high sensitivity rating which indicated that they will play harder and cleaner. The rated watts are good and the max watts are awesome for a pair of 6 1/2"! They feature an internal crossover which will direct the signals to the proper driver so sound quality is un-compromised. Their marine certified which is great if U want these in the front door of your car! So far these speakers are a great choice for rock,rap,techno and soft rock music. The sound imaging is awesome. I would recommend and suggest anyone to buy thes speakers!

STRENGTHS:
Very good sound especially matched with the polk components. These speakers thrive on power and certified for marine use so they will last in a car. I can see why everyone raves about them in Crutchfield.
WEAKNESSES:
None, unless you have an under powered radio.
REVIEW:
I installed these in my wife's 97 Maxima Se and I was skeptical at first. The OEM had completely disentigrated because of the sun and were under powered. Connected them to the original HU and they sounded ok, but I Knew I needed a radio upgrade. Once I installed the component speakers in the front 6500, the sound completely changed and I could here the bass coming from the rear. These speakers sound awesome on the OEM radion. Now my wife wants the radio replaced with the Avic D3.

I didnt think anyone would ever make a speaker comparable to the old cerwin vega ss-262 speakers.well i was wrong!these babies hit hard and have a nice warm tone to them i was very suprised when i turned them on run by a fosgate 450.4 amp to replace crappy excelons i had in my front doors these things sound just incredible.well polk you got my business from now on now ill upgrade my home system to polk also.(looking forward to upgrading home system)

DID ONLINE RESEARCH FOR THE BEST 6.5" DRIVER TO REPLACE THE OEM SPEAKERS THAT CAME WITH MY NEW HONDA PILOT. EVERY RETAILERS SITE SAID THAT POLK DB650's were the highest rated. after hearing that Polk newest speaker in this line was the DB651, and even better. I soon found out that manying retailers were selling out as fast as they were being deliverd to their stores. I drove 35 miles to my nearest Circuit City only to find out that they too had sold out. Then I drove another 30 miles and was lucky to has purchased the last two pairs. I had the installed...what a difference!!! They are worth every. I find myself sitting in my driver way just listning to my system.
