STRENGTHS: comes with box
WEAKNESSES: blows in a matter of months after professional install.
REVIEW: i had it for 3 months and it blew. sent it in for repair and in 2 more months it blew. i did not overpower it. i was sending 300 watts rms to it and i did not have the music up too loud. had many systems in my car but this is the worst one yet. sure the warrenty covers it but i still am out for the shipping costs. |

STRENGTHS: Takes up no room sounds great for being a ten clean tight bass could use a little more lows but I think it is underpowered.
WEAKNESSES: Outer boxing scratces easily but not when you screw it down. Screw it down first.
REVIEW: I just bought this sub and it is better than I expected. Bought it for $150 for a pair but only put 1 in the back of my acura integra. I need to get a bigger amp to fully power this sub to its fullest potential. I have a PG 400 watts x 1 that is sounding good but could use an extra 200 watts to fully make this sub work the way it is suppose to, I would have paid up to 300 dollars for this sub and box alone but found a good deal. Great sub for the money |

STRENGTHS: Very very Nice box! Kick ass appearance! Clean, clear and precise bass response. Blend in well with my door/rear deck speaker. Small box fit in the trunk corner. One word to describe it: Beautiful design and OWESOME bass response.
WEAKNESSES: The routine route to work seems getting shorter than before!
REVIEW: Well...I've been dreaming to have one of this MM10 in the past 3 years, since it's over my budget so I went with the DX10 with a custom built box and drive it with a Sony ES amp bridge in mono mode, it works well, until I swap it with the MM10...the DX10 now sit on floor in my garage collecting dust.
I pick one up on 3/8/04 from Fry's electronics advertise for $99.99 (I got nothing to loose for a $100 sub-woofer), I don't know why they are trying to get rid of them, just the stand alone grille cost $20 at Crutchfield...! So...I went and bought one and without any adjustment to the amp previously tune to DX10, I am surprise how this speaker sound. This MM10 blend in so well with Polk EX series 6.5 & 6x9 speakers, these coaxial speakers handle so well with the OEM deck on my 2001 Honda Accord V6 EXL, my co-workers were impressed when they look at the actual unit, and head turns after hearing the clean, clear, tight bass note. I am not the kind of guy play it loud around town but I love just right natural bass sound, I found the right sub-woofer now. Thanks to the Polk audio RD team. All of the speakers in my accord were Polk audio including the dash tweeters.
Suggestion: any DIY car audio installer should break-in this MM10 at normal listening level.
Final words: highly recommend to any person in a market for an excellent, good cosmetic appearance, precise clean bass response, this is the ONE. |

STRENGTHS: nice, night, hard ass kicking bass. enclose good for lookks as where you can install LED tubing.
WEAKNESSES: grill design. the grill is too close to speaker. get a rim tap when cranked up. need better people and customer care
REVIEW: good quality sound. too bad speaker only lasted less than 45days. i got this thing back in december 2003. i have a 500watt+ system. one day i turned the radio and nothing. thought it was my amp. but nope. eneded up being the speaker. i had 500watts going to it. Polk said it was underpowered...whatever. i'm a licensed installer and audio tech. that's the first time an audio company told me " I " screwed there product up by not having enough power. but whatever. i love plok audio. but i don't think i'll be putting anymore subs in anytime soon |

STRENGTHS: Small footprint, beautiful design, amazing performance. Smooth as silk!
WEAKNESSES: The bottom is slick, requiring you to use velcro, or the included metal brackets to mount it down. Being an SUV owner, I like to have my sub easily removable when I need to load it up. Velcro tape has worked very nicely for me.
REVIEW: One word can describe this perfectly matched sub and enclosure... WOW. After having my last system stolen from my car, I have been waiting for something to replace it! After installing this little powerhouse, I'm almost glad my last system was stolen. This sub acurately reproduces the low and high frequencies in it's range with tight, o-so-clean, chest pounding bass. All types of music listeners will appreciate the way this sub reproduces the tight kick drum in rock music, to the thumping bass in the ever so popular gangster rap. |

STRENGTHS: Tight bass, excellent range of power. Outstanding price to performance ratio. Clean sounding above anyhthing else. Great all around.
WEAKNESSES: Tough to find a place to install it in my car, but then again, I own a 944 Porsche and they aren't exactly set up for a subwoofer.
REVIEW: I recently bought the MM10 and so far I have been very happy with it's sound quality, reliability, and power. I have an 800W Kenwood amp and together they make quite a duo. This subwoofer is by far the best bang for your buck deal out there!!!!!!!! There have been no problems what so ever with mine and from now on, I'm going with the Polk/MOMO sound systems. |

STRENGTHS: 20-200 hz, hits the low notes. Awsome enclosure!! 500 watts RMS. Looks good in the back of my del sol!!!!!
WEAKNESSES: The neighbors complain when i have it turned up.
REVIEW: I have shopped around for subs for a while and this is by far the best i have found. I got a real good deal on it and never thought twice about paying $99 for it. I Drive a '96 Honda Del Sol si and i stuck it in the trunk. A kenwood kac 7251 amp is giving it plenty of power. My friends say they can hear me coming a mile away.
Definatly the best sub!! |

STRENGTHS: 20-200Hz Frequency Range. This enclosed sub hits the low notes effortlessly with accuracy, impact, and volume. It sounds as good as it looks.
WEAKNESSES: None, except eventually you have to get out of your car. This sub looks so nice that you'll feel bad leaving it in your trunk where you can't see it.
REVIEW: The engineers at Polk Audio are Gods. If you're reading this review then take my advice and follow these steps:
1. Go to www.crutchfield.com
2. Buy this enclosed subwoofer on clearance for only $180 instead of $330
3. Buy the MTX Audio Thunder8302 amplifier on clearance for only $200 instead of $350
I was amazed at the sound quality and power of this subwoofer. My car is louder and sounds better with this one 10 inch sub than it previously did with two 12 inch subs. It only takes up just slightly more than one foot of cubic space in my trunk but fills my entire car with extraordinary bass. Did I mention it looks great? |

STRENGTHS: Best sub ever.
WEAKNESSES: None.
REVIEW: Well I finally got my two MM10's in my trunk and all I can say is DAMN THESE THINGS KICK and they arn't even broken in yet!!! Tight, clean, and deep bass reproduction. I don't think that there is anything on the market that is better for the money. Go spend the dough and get a sub that you will never dislike. |

STRENGTHS: Cool design, Clean tight bass, Compact(very important)
What else can i say??? ITS A POLK~!!
WEAKNESSES: None that i can see so far.
REVIEW: I'm an audio engineer, and i must say that im very impressed with the sound of the 10" Polk Momo.
It's deep bass response for a 10" is equivilent to that of a 12" or bigger. I was so impressed with the sound that i hooked it up to my home studio gear. . . All i have to say is wow!
Very clean, tight, and deep bass for a price that is affordable to anyone who wants a quality sub and not spend a whole lot.
I have it hooked up in my 96' Maxima with 6.5" EX series Polk Components in my doors and rear deck.
I have 3 MTX amps running the units.
But im in search for other amps at the moment.
Awsome Product!
POLK, DAMN GOOD JOB~!!!

STRENGTHS: None
WEAKNESSES: First of all you guys are just posers and JBL is the best. JBL has been in the speaker industry the longest.

Kevin Burns (January 9th, 2003) |
STRENGTHS: cleanliness of sound, no distortion
WEAKNESSES: The grill
REVIEW: I work for Circuit City, and I really like the enclosure and how it helps maximaize the performance of the subwoofer. The only problem I have had is the grill, and sometimes my sub hits it and it has caused some problems. I also thik it would look better without the grill. |

STRENGTHS: cool look..
WEAKNESSES: blows so easy!
REVIEW: Good, for the 3 hours it lasted.. i dont even listen to loud music and it blew... my mtx 6000 dident blow that easy.... 1000 watts.. hahahah |
Polk Response: We are sorry that you had a problem. Your speaker did not fail because of excessive power but because of a manufacturing error.
Polk Audio's first concern is the long-term satisfaction of our customers. For that reason we have decided to temporarily halt shipments of the new Polk/MOMO subwoofers - both the enclosed models (MM10 & MM12) and component models (MM104 & MM124). An unacceptably high number of units experienced a failure of the glue bond that secures the spider to the voice coil former. All Polk/MOMO subwoofers in the hands of retailers are being returned to Polk Audio.
We were caught unaware by the problem as prototype units fully met all torture tests and the production units passed the industry-standard EIA-426b power handling tests. We understand the reasons for the failure and have devised a test that will prevent future manufacturing defects from getting out into the hands of customers. We have absolute confidence that future production units will meet or exceed all performance specifications and be able to play very loud with full Polk Audio sound quality.
At this time our best estimate is that we will have perfect in-spec units back into dealer warehouses in September. If you have a new model Polk/MOMO subwoofer and it is working, you should keep using it. The odds are that the woofer will continue to work fine. If you want to replace it with a new unit in September or if you have a unit that is not working correctly, contact your Polk retailer or Polk customer service at 800-377-7655 or email polkcs@polkaudio.com).
This notice applies ONLY to the new model MM10, MM12, MM104 and MM124 products. Older Polk/MOMO models MM100 and MM120 are not effected.
