STRENGTHS: Loud, Clear, run great at half power
WEAKNESSES: none only tht they need to be in a ported encloser
REVIEW: Well, I have always loved polk from the first time i heard them. I bought a pair of the DB 8" Subwoofers and loved them! In every encloser i put them in they beat out alot of twin 10 systems and even twin 12. However, when i upgraded my interior speakers, i had to get louder subs. with my satisfaction with the 8's, i figured the 10's would be great. I got a pair of these 10's for christmas and a sealed Bassworks encloser. in my room during the break in, the were great.. hard hitting and louder than i had expected, until i put the stead lows into them... the had no low end resonance. after looking into the math, i realized these speakers resonate way to high for a sealed box. In a ported box they would be much more amazing and deeper. i have a box on the way from bassworks, and im sure it will sound much nicer. |
