700 Watts, Killer Bass

You won't find an autosound subwoofer that sounds better then the SR Series subwoofer. Using a similar design to our top of the line DSW microPRO home subwoofers, SR Series subwoofers are designed to produce the cleanest, tightest, highest quality bass for your vehicle.

Both 10" & 12" models are designed to provide competition-grade bass performance when installed in small sealed enclosures (.88 cubic ft net volume for the SR104 and 1.2 cubic ft net volume for the SR124).

db Series Features

Solid Contruction, Massive Bass

SR Subwoofers have massive die-cast aluminum baskets to house the 16 pound motor structure. A 2-1/2" inch glass/epoxy voice coil former wound with four layers of heavy gauge high temperature aluminum wire provides the highest power handling and reliability possible. The voice coil is bathed in cooling air via an extensive network of vents in the pole piece and basket. Specially designed curved vanes smooth the airflow to minimize air turbulence that could cause noise and woofer "chuffing." Dual progressive roll spiders precisely control the cone’s long excursion for the ultimate in tight, detailed and musical bass. NBR (Nitrile Butyl Rubber) Surround damps distortion inducing resonance as it stands up to harsh automotive environments.

Rigid Cones.

ABS Cones have catenary shaped cones that provide rigidity and strength. At each point in a catenary structure, opposing tension and compression forces are balanced. A catenary shape maximizes the stiffness of the cone without resorting to using more material that would add mass. The woofer cone won’t flex giving you tight, accurate bass.

Wire them up the way you want.

Available in single and dual voice coil (DVC) configurations allow flexible wiring options in all sizes. And forget wimpy terminal connections, SR Series subwoofers use heavy duty hex-key terminals (use a included 2.5mm Allen key) for clean, reliable hookups that can accommodate up to 8 gauge speaker wire.

Dynamic Balanced Drivers

All SR Series subwoofers incorporate Dynamic Balance technology, which is a state-of-the-art proprietary Polk technology developed in conjunction with the Johns Hopkins University. The goal was to perfect the method of analyzing a speaker’s microscopic behavior using laser Interferometry in order to optimize the system’s performance. Polk engineers were able to view the entire vibrating surface of a driver or tweeter and see the resonance which develops on speaker cones as they move. Resonance is the root cause of frequency response distortions. Dynamic Balance enables us to tune out unwanted resonance and distortion with the perfect combination of materials, geometry and construction techniques. The result is pure, distortion free sound.

Klippel Optimized Components

In order for a driver to reproduce complex sounds accurately, the cone must move in exactly the same distance and manner in both directions of travel. The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a laser and sophisticated software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in motion, enables us to optimize the motor structure, voice coil alignment and suspension to yield the best possible bass performance.
