To get the absolute best sound from LCi In-Wall Loudspeakers we recommend you take advantage of Polk Audio's Custom Built LCi Performance Enclosures. Performance Enclosures are easiest to install in the pre-construction phase or for major renovation.
Polk Audio’s Custom Built LCi Performance Enclosures give the LCi In-Wall Loudspeakers the performance edge by hiding a complete, perfect-volume speaker cabinet within the wall before the wall is even completed. LCi Performance Enclosures are specially constructed of high grade MDF and fill material in sizes that fit securely between wall and ceiling studs in pre-drywall construction. Adjustable brackets make pre-construction installation simple. Vibration-damping foam pads ensure rattle-free performance. Performance Enclosures guarantee the most consistent dynamic, full spectrum high performance sound, with better low frequency extension and reduced "print through" (sound through walls).
TCi, SC and certain RCi models may be used with performance enclosures for sound isolation purposes.

Note when using Performance Enclosures, Rough In Kits are not necessary.
