Sr. Headphone Development Engineer
This is a Full Time position at our Baltimore, MD location.
Job Description
Major loudspeaker industry brand is looking for an individual to lead the design and engineering efforts associated with the development of new headphone products (over-ear, on-ear, in-ear, in-ear canal, etc.). This person will participate in or direct substantially all aspects of headphone product technical development, to include a substantial subset of the following:
- Transducer modeling
- Loudspeaker/audio system design and integration (including passive & active network design)
- Acoustics/audio design and testing
- Mechanical design and testing
- Wireless audio design and testing
- Design for manufacturing
- Packaging design
Furthermore, the ideal candidate shall demonstrate an avid interest in high-fidelity audio and music reproduction. And this individual should also be capable of managing and directing both in-house and vendor resources to prosecute project tasks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all engineering work required for assigned projects.
- Responsible for coordinating all technical contributions and specifications from each of the engineering groups and serving as the project team?s technical expert for that project.
- Technical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, product specifications, computer-based electro-acoustic models, FEA, listening evaluations, product/component performance testing/validation, assembly-line production testing, physical prototyping and measurement using systems specifically developed for headphone development.
- Transducer Design ? specify, develop, evaluate, improve micro, BA and other types of transducers typically use din headphone design
- Serve as an engineering leader on project teams responsible for executing new product development.
- Meet with manufacturers to discuss all engineering details of a project, providing solutions as needed and making critical and timely technical decisions on behalf of the project team

Responsibilities
Reporting to the CSO, the Director of Sales – PAP will:
• Lead the sales efforts to establish Polk’s leadership in the headphone, speaker dock, computer speaker, and other personal audio product categories.
• Meet or exceed category sales and profit goals.
