Well, after my wife purchased her 55 gallon fish tank over 3 months ago I finally got around to starting and finishing her stand. Only thing left to do is to finish building the doors for and two openings on the ends but she got impatient so I had to bring it in before she went ape $%^& on me. Here are some pics, it's made out of 3/4" oak and built strong enough to park a truck on. Still not finished setting up the tank yet as you can see by it only being 3/4 of the way full of water.

Your dog is like my dogs. Always have to be in the middle of things to 'help'.
Nice stand.
Do fish in a tank like music?! Nice stand. I would like to have such skills.

Nice job. I liked working with 3/4 oak plywood myself.

Wow that looks great!!! Beautiful craftsmanship!!! My grandfather was a master carpenter, I "helped" him build a new workshop when I was 3 years old:D
I spent all day in there with him watching him work and playing on the swing he put up in there for my sister and I:) I dabble here and there making things every now and then, but no where near the caliber of what he crafted. It's a beautiful art that you don't see as often any more as so many things are just cheaply mass produced now a days. I do live close to amish country though and get to see some of the fine furnishings they build. Keep up the good work, looks like you have a real passion for it!!!!!;):D:D:D

....looks great. Hope you know what you are getting your self into with a tank that size. Need to keep up with it. Balance the tank with right fish and vegetation. Had one for five years before it went out of control. Raised two small sharks from 6" to 11" before the tank went sour.

Well it helps that my wife is the pet care manager at Petsmart so if it's about fish tanks, shes knows her ****. All I do is build the cabinets, she takes care of the rest other than cleaning it which I did today. She's already eying a 150 gallon tank for the basement game room. She either wants to go the Oscar route or the Pacu route. Told her for now, this is it. LOL!!!
