View Full Version : Need help ID'ing a sub circa 1992!!

Hi folks!

I have in my possession a Polk subwoofer that has been in my family since it was bought new...however no one remembers what it was purchased for. I'm just curious what its value is these days. It's very musical, and doesn't quite fit in with my current HT obsession, but i have no doubt someone would appreciate it and may look into selling it. It is a 10" PR with two 6.5" drivers in a push/pull bandpass. Cosmetically it's probably 7/10, but otherwise it's in perfect working condition. I didn't upload a direct shot of the PR, but it is also in perfect condition.

You will get two kinds of responses here. One set of people will tell you that you shouldnt come into this forum selling something till you have taken the time to know people here (100 posts). The other is going to tell you about the sub anyway because they like to talk about these things! Good luck!

Do you have the satellites that go with it? That is a RM3000 sub I think. I'd say worth maybe $50 without the sats. I'd like to have one of those just to have it cause ya dont see them often. At least I don't. I seen the RM3000 with sats for $100 on Craigslist last year. And that may have been too high! I did a little research on that set up then and I think, if I remember right, the sub and satellites sold for around $600 new. Think they first started making it in 1991.

Sure it's not an LF14 (iirc)? If you can ID the woofers & radiator we may be a bit closer.

Definately not an LF-14. The LF-14 is simply the bass section of an RTA-12.

Definitely not an LF14.



I'd say the RM3000 would be a more accurate guess.

RM1000, first gen. The second gen 3000 series had rounded corners, and no 'blue' post.

Ah thank you; I finally saw pictures of a real LF-14 when I took a look at some pictures here and comments at AK.
