Hey guys, my parents finally bought a nice TV and I felt the audio needed an upgrade as well. I found these Monitors 7Bs (http://denver.craigslist.org/ele/1766761410.html), but I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not. Whadya think?

The price is good, especially with stands. Can you inspect the workmanship of the capacitor replacement?

I wouldn't even know what to look for heheh. I'm guessing that anyone who'd actually attempt a cap replacement would be reasonably knowledgeable or good at it. Well, I'll probably pick these up tomorrow so I'll report back then.

For $89, those are a no brainer. With some mods already performed, along with the original stands and Peerless tweets, that would be a GREAT sounding pair of speakers.
They appear to be in very good shape cosmetically too. IMO, you'd be very hard pressed to find a better sounding pair of speakers for $90. My Peerless 7A's won't be going anywhere anytime soon.:)
Did you do good? Well had you asked us before you bought...you would've heard a chorus of BUY, BUY, BUY!
Enjoy.

I'd love to have a pair with the Peerless tweets. Nice find, go listen and snag them.

I picked up a set of 7A's at GW on Sunday $5 each, labeled tweets blown. No fuses in rear, bought them, 50% off for over 50's. So paid my $5 and headed to ratshack and bought 4 1A. fuses $1.99 and headed for home. Put in the fuses and all speakers work. I'm a happy camper.
