If by any chance you leave a bottle of beer in the freezer a little to long and it starts to freeze, put it in the microwave for about 30-40 seconds before you open it. I've done this a few times in the past and as recently as 2 minutes ago. Works like a charm.

microwave with a metal cap?? to long and they expand and bust.. have woke up the next day and had broken bottles in the freezer with frozen fizzed beer

Yes. Metal cap on and foil label on. I've done this a few times and haven't seen a spark yet.


I remember watching a cooking show a few years back. This guy used foil in the microwave all the time. He could actually brown food in a microwave. It was his trademark. He was on for quite awhile, but isn't now. I don't know if he had to settle too many busted microwave lawsuits, was a lousy cook, had bad charisma, lost his spot to Emeril, unwrapped, or what.
