Did you buy the older RT8 or the newer RTi8? I know there was a pair of maple RT8's on the bay recently, they sold at a very reasonable BIN price.

It's at the top end for that speaker, but still well worth it as far as quality. The original RT series floorstanders are GREAT speakers, those were made just before the Trilam tweeter was developed, and use a simple, transmission line style cabinet with bottom firing power ports (first implementation of a power port was the RT8).

Cheers,
Russ

The RT8's? Including shipping? I think that is reasonable. As long as they are in excellent condition and function. I paid $200 for RT12's that add a second driver. I haven't seen many RT8's for sale, I have seen some RT35 bookshelves sell for that.

If you bought the maple ones I was referring to on e-bay. I was tempted to buy those myself. Maple ones are not lsited often.

$150 and shipped to Vietnam...sounds like a good deal. Gotta wonder how much the shipping alone cost...unless it was being shipped from Cambodia...

I've never heard of the RT8 but they sure do look great (and knowing Polk, sound superb). For $150 shipped to Vietnam at the MSRP for the pair at $500+..no foul there.

Enjoy!

Second that.

Those look nicer than my RTi8s! I absolutely dig the wood stands...very classy.
