Is the refurbished stuff off harmanaudio.com in good shape. I was thinking on buying a hk 3475 stereo receiver or something similar because it is so cheap. But can you tell it's refurbished, any dents or scratchs?

should i just spend the extra money and buy new?

If you put a new product and a factory refurbished product next to each other, you couldnt tell the difference. Definitely don't buy new. This comes from experience with 2 pairs of speakers, a center channel, and a receiver. All in original boxes, orignal manuals, warranty, etc. Refurbished is where it's at

Yeah, what Cer said. Buy with confidence, STRAIGHT from the manufacturer.

I purchased a Harman Kardon 3375 stereo reciever from Harman Audio. It arrived in prestine condition, like new. The thin protective layer of plastic covering the frontside panel of the unit never appeared tampered with.

They come, highly recommended.

I would have no problem buying refurb either.. esp from the manufacturer. They are always set back to the original specs and have usually had a complete overhaul too, for good savings.

Right the first time (if you can afford to), but always get it right the second time (you can't afford not to).

OK, I'll rephrase...

I think the quality of refurbished equipment is assured to an even greater degree than "new" pieces right off of the line.

Better? :D

If that post had contained a female nether region reference, it could have been a limerick Brett.... :)

There once was a unit from HK,
That wasn't made right the first day,
So back to HK it went,
Damn transistor was bent,
Now the new owner can get some pus-say

:D

Speaking of the female nether region, anyone else think it looks like someone hit Telly Savalas in the head with an axe?

Thanks for the new way of loking at it Russman, but not all of them are bald, some are more like Howard Stern got hit in the head with an axe.
