I just bought an EX2560 for my car. It's being powered by a 70x2 RMS Pioneer Amplifier. After 2 weeks, I noticed popping sounds coming out of the right tweeters especially when playing Rock/Alternative songs (Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit). I don't seem to hear any popping sounds when playing R&B type songs, though.

I found it strange since I don't really pump up the volume and I've got the passive crossovers connected.

Any ideas on how to remedy this? Thanks!

The first thing that I would suggest is checking the mounting of the tweeter to make sure that the tweeter cup is not being twisted and causing a misalignment of the tweeter's voice coil.
Also check for a shorted speaker wire feeding the tweeter. You can do a simple check for a short by using your Ohm Meter. Check it against chassis ground also. If this checks out to be OK, then return the tweeter to our service department for exchange. The address is Polk Audio
2550 Britannia Blvd. Suite D San Diego, CA. 92154.
Include a short note describing the problem, return shipping
address, daytime phone number, along with a copy of your receipt. These speakers have a 1 year warranty.

Thanks,
Kim

Kim,

I live in Manila, Philippines. Will Polk still honor the warranty? Thanks!

In your area return them to the folks at:
Ginza Trading 4B Avalon Condo, 5 Xavier Street Ortegas Avenue
Greenhills, San Juan. Their telephone number is (2) 7264897.
Make sure to include a copy of your sales receipt, state the problem with the tweeters, return shipping address, and your daytime phone number.

Thanks,
