HELP

I just bought my first subwoofer a couple of weeks ago (PSW303B) and i noticed last night that there was a low hum coming from the subwoofer. Power to everything was off and the power switch on the back of the subwoofer was set to 'auto'. I flipped it to 'off' and still noticed the hum. It only went away when i actually unplugged it.

The cable i am using is a 'THX certified' subwoofer cable from Monster Cable, though it is 16 or 18 feet long becuase it was the shortest one they had. It is also hooked up in the correct direction as per the cable.

I cant figure out what is causing it. Should I exchange it for another or is this normal.

Your help is much appreciated.

Chris

It is the transformer inside the subwoofer. Nothing wrong.

Is there anyway to minimize the hum. It isnt loud, but i did notice it.

I assume it wont hurt performance?

Will it eventually go away as it gets 'broken in'?

Doc can answer that more, but I believe it will never go away. It is apart of the sub. It does not degrade performance. Boom away I say
