Just to give you an idea of your price........
You're higher than what you can get a brand new CSi40......
Good luck i guess.

I agree, not to shoot the speaker out of the water, But starting anyways at 275.00 on e-bay is a stretch, I would say it might pull 200.00 -250.00 max, if you have box and paperwork, and it's mint,
Just a suggection,

Dave,
In all honesty, I base a lot of the 'worth' of a product off of what it goes for on Ebay. I at least use that as a gauge for what I'm looking to spend on an item, be it retail, or online. I thought that I'd seen it for less on Crutchfield, but as of just a few minutes ago, their price is $299.99. If I were you, I'd tell your brother to wait it out and watch the price drop when Polk brings out their new speaker line in a few months. Everyone will probably be pawning off all the stuff for pretty cheap.......

hey Brett,
i sold all of my equipment because i wanted to to upgrade to Polk's latest models. When do you think Polk is going to release their new models? I have seen that places like crutchfield and CC have cut there prices all the Polk Models, do you think they will still drop for less? I was planning on purchasing some equipment this week because the prices are right but now i'm second guessing.
Thanks for the Info Brett

I think that the prices may go a little bit lower but nothing crazy. Only one I am now interested in is the CSi40 going lower, :) , I will also wait a bit longer to see.

not to pirate the thread here or anything. but is there much difference betweent the CS400i and the CSi40? will the i40 match as well with the RT800i's?

dorokusai,
do you think i should upgrade my speakers now? Or wait it out?
I am real tempted because i just saw
the Rti100 for $699 the pair, the csi40 for $299, and the fxi50's for $349. Would you go ahead and upgrade now or wait?

Gate1way2,
have you considered the RTi70's at all? I know the Rti100's have powered subs in them. I and a many other people in here think the i70's offer some better mids with it's dual mids. I have both of the older models of them... the 800i's and the 1000i's. I find that the 1000i's are not as smooth as the 800i's. Plus they are about a hundred bucks less too. Just a thought.

The RTi70 has way clearer mids than the RTi100. IMO all da way of course. The RTi70 didn't have the bass impact however the mids were way more open than the RTi100. The RTi100 seemed far behind in the mid region. IMO of course all the way. For 275 - I would buy the CSi40. Wood enclosure, Silk tweet. Cant go wrong buying the CSi40. The CS400i is a huge plastic box. That probally sounds awesome, but since it is discontinued - It should not be sold for 275 which the newer product is sold as.

dangerboy,
so in your opinion the i70 sounds better than the i100's? I don't really care about the bass because i plan on adding a hardcore sub. I just thought because the 100's were more they would be better. Let me know thanks

The reason the 100 is more is the fact is has a powered subwoofer for the bottum end instead of another midrange. The RTi70 has a better midrange, the RTi100 has more bass. This is opinion of course, no one can decide for you. However the main reason the 100 cost more is because of the powered subwoofer. The midrange will be similar to that of the RTi38, or 35i. It is kinda open, but its kinda faded. The extra midrange opens a whole new world.
