Suggestions for a Turn Table

I'm in the process of building a new system and I'm just getting started about learning everything. I have bought a Pioneer Elite VSX-23TXH Receiver and an Adcom GFA-7500 Amp. I'm going to buy either LSi15s or LSi9s with a quality subwoofer. I also plan on buying the Pioneer Elite BDP-09FD Blu-Ray Player. I'm interested in listening to records and want some recommendations for Turn Tables. I am spending a lot on the other components of my system so I don't have a lot left over for the Turn Table but I would like something that is quality but it doesn't need to be fancy.

Look for a Technics 1200 used. You don't need a speed controller, dampening, and they are built like tanks.

Thanks Ben. That looks like exactly what I was looking for. What cartridge should I use? Is the Shure M97xE High-Performance Magnetic Phono Cartridge the right one to use?
