Want to replace the old DVD player in the bedroom with a BDP. The whole HT in there is made up of components I already had (except the 40s) and I would prefer to "steal" a decent player. CDs are being handled by a (too) good player, so movies is all it needs to do.

Setup includes:

Sony 100 watt/channel 6.1 AVR
Monitor 40 fronts
CS2 center
Bose 2x arrays for rear surround
Marantz CDP
Sony DVD player

Thanks

I just picked up my second Panasonic BDP. This was the DMP BD65 for $100 at HH Gregg at the "Black Friday" price. Normally $185.
Fast loading and versatile. Should fit your needs nicely. Easy to use remote.
Excellent picture. I have the 60 also but it's slow loading and they're about the same $$.

I've had many Sony CD and DVD players including car audio and I've never had a problem. I had a Toshiba DVD player that lasted about 20 hours. I had a Panasonic that died after a couple of years and not that much use. I love Sony.

grif32 - I missed it!

orrb_05 - That Yamaha is what I call a "steal!" I'm a born sucker for a deal like that. However, I'm too tight on space for this one. It's too tall!

Saw a couple LG brand players out there, but have no experience with LG. Lots of Samsung models but several unfortunate comments about quality.

Starting to think I may add streaming to the thinking ...

I have the Samsung BD-P1200 that I just upgraded from because I wanted Netflix streaming. All the firmware is up to date, it plays discs well, and has the best DVD up-conversion of any brand IMO. $50+ actual shipping if you want it Gulfstrings.

I bought this Insignia http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Insignia%26%23153%3B+-+Internet+Connectable+/+Wi-Fi+Built-in+Blu-ray+Disc+Player/9386103.p?id=1218096448903&skuId=9386103 a couple months ago and I love it. For $100 you get a blu-ray player, netflix player, pandora player, etc. Best of all, the wireless adapter is built in.

Apparently these Sony's are sold/shipped in Florida. They add $4-something in taxes to my price.

Still ...

It's $119.99 but when you add it to your cart it takes of $60.00Maybe I missed it and maybe I didn't but does this unit also do the netflix thing wirelessly from the computer? It looks to me like it does not. Anybody know for sure?

Lietuvis91

no wireless, and no netflix streaming... that's probably the reason it's $60 and not $120 or more
