Hi guys I would love to welcome your opinions on rehabing my whole system. I often get the upgrade itch for the LSi's thinking I'm missing somthing with my current RTi's I currrently have. Many say the RTi are bright but with these NAD amps they are smooth and very well controlled. My the front soundstage are all connected to its own ampiliers, I have 3 NAD 214 running in bridge mode and they put off a warm beautiful sound. Ive built this system over the years and it has been through many upgrades and additives. What would you guys do if you where in my shoes.
Let take a poll and give your reason why
Current RTi or LSi:rolleyes:

Depends on budget, no subwoofer ? I would say add a sub first. Keep in mind the LSI speakers are 4ohm. If you want to continue on with a bridged amp, they may not like that load. So an additional amp may be required if you move up to the LSI's.

I am using 3 CT-100 10" velodynes all located in the front of my system. And as for budget I willing to buy a pair at a time... The amps I'm using are 2ohm stable

the most common impediment to upgrading to LSi is the amp demand, if you got the juice to do it, go get em.
do it for your own reasons though, the RTi's are no slouch and are an excellent theater speaker.

??? With the LSi will the only adventage be in the tweeter

Is this mostly HT or Music? When looking for my new HT setup I went to about 10 different hifi shops in Wisconsin and Chicago to listen to as many speaker brands I could find. This way you'll be able to find something that fits your taste:

IMO the vifa tweeter used in the LSi's are far better than the rti's tweeter. The RTI's has a wider sound stage.

I consider myself to be a movie man but at times I ofter listen to music for hours at a time.. Half and half to movies and music.

I have the rt25is in my office and used to run rt7s and ci400i in my home rig, a very similar setup which I really liked (and still have and enjoy the rt25is). However, I moved up to the Lsi7s across my front stage (even without "proper" power, although the lsi7s are really 6 ohm) and I LOVE them and do not regret the change at all. I lost a little bass and perhaps a little width in the soundstage (although I really don't notice) but that sweet tweeter just keeps me coming back for more. However, I am a (former) musician and music is most important to me. For HT I think that the difference is almost negligible. Just my 2 cents...

Yes. The Lsi will require a dedicted amp, and the power that most avr cannot provide. You may actually damage the speakers if played at high volumes. I say go for the Lsi if ya got the coin. Just factor in the price of buying additional gear.

well im one that has both RTI'A and LSI...to tell you the truth i like rtia better for home theater lsi sound less or if not the same for home theater...but ill tell you the lsi's do shine in music especially when it comes to string instruments and violin! u hear the warmth the rtia are not to bright in my opinion except the book shelf models are a bit bright IMO...if you only want for home theater stick with rti if your an audiophile then lsi's would be the best bet!(of course with a quality amp)

Not really...you have higher quality mid-bass drivers, cross-overs, and the cabinets are much sturdier (less resonance).
I haven't felt the need to upgrade since I got the LSi9's...and have owned plenty of speakers (including the RTi's) over the course of years of upgraditis.

I'd wait until the LSiM hits the streets and the bottom drops out of the previous series.

Thanks for the tip on the LSiM line. I did a quick google search and was able to see a snap of whats coming for the future. Many options are presenting theirselves I think the best thing to do is stick with what I have and maybe dedicate a 2-channel listening room with either the current LSi or possibly the LSiM.

I have to vote for the LSi, I love my RTi for movies but not so much for music. Waiting for the new LSi line to come out so I check them out.

Not in bridged mode I'm willing to bet. I would still get something alittle more beefer for the LSI series if you go that route.

If you are looking to get into the LSi speakers, I would suggest getting a pair of LSi7 bookshelf speakers. A pair are available from PolkDirect on ebay.

They are the easiest of the LSi's to power and will give you a good representation of the LSi sound. I have a couple of pairs of these for separate two channel systems, one powered with a UPA-2 amp and the other powered by a HK3490 stereo receiver and I really enjoy them.
Your 535 Adcom Amp should be just fine to power a pair of LSi7s.

I agree with the waiting game.

More power would do better but the Adcom 535 has enough power to make them sing.
