The receiver does have a broken hdmi port but that must be caused by shipping

Apart from that it works just fine for me ?

Here is what he said was wrong with the receiver that got me all worked up and ready to file a shipping claim and I quote

" That's not the biggest issue I'm having though. It's been cutting out on me, going into what I assume is protection mode. I've tried hooking it up with different wire, both input and to the speakers and just using two both front L/R no surround hooked up. This is happening at low levels, and at high levels. I know you said you had no known issues, but you insured it, and its developed these issues since I received it " He sent another whole bunch like this all angry after I try'd to provide solutions

I have been blasting the crap out the pioneer and watched 2 movies and I cant find any problems like this . I am glad I never try'd to file a shipping claim

I sold an onkyo receiver ,polk rti6 and a csi5 to some long term members on here and explained clearly any defect and never got a feedback on the itrader rating thing

I think its a little stinky that some awesome mebers here were willing to pay return shipping for what I can only call a liar!!

Life sucks, so get used to it! Stop whining. At least you 'know' now! And you have your stuff back? Can sell it somewhere else with the proviso that one HDMI is out.

Money isn't everything PFB. I can't believe how much people worry over a few bucks lost or gained. Look, we all just got screwed 100s of thousands of dollars each by the Wall Street and Banking boys a while back. But life goes on!

Move on. You're good.

Here we go again...

Its not popcorn time dave its fact!!

If the buyer would have just said the hdmi ports broke I would like a refund then I would have refunded him without all the BS about it not working

I am simply stating the guy who bought this is a liar?

I dont like the tone of your responce and this has nothing to do with wall street

Its a matter of being true to your word

well, if you did not state the hdmi didn't work, and it doesn't.... isn't that grounds for returning it anyhow?

I really don't want to get involved, but seriously, if something on it didn't work...that's it, done...not as described.

What I'm suggesting is that you take this issue up with Polk moderators instead of continuing with it here. See what they say you should do or can do?

Not really going after you personally. Just see what the most productive venue would be. Because I don't think THIS is it.

and you were true to your word, refunded, and even got help on the shipping back to you. i cant believe i am reading another thread like this. you came out pretty well even on this, and STILL made a thread to call another member a "liar". i hope this thread gets nuked, along with the other one.

welcome to the internet and to the world of buying, selling, and trading. learn to deal with it better.

i'm not taking sides at all, but it would appear that the buyer did fib about the unit not working. the op took a beating about refunding the money, and now it appears that the unit did in fact work. i will agree that the broken hdmi port is reason enough, but why lie about other things being wrong?

Not really... just a little corn, some coconut oil and some melted butter and you have a tasty treat that the whole family can enjoy!

Lets's PFB, you're a liar because you say Netflix is choppy for you when you stream, it's not for me so therefore (based on your reasoning with your buyer) you are a liar.

See that logic doesn't hold water? Does it? Perhaps for him in his rig it was cutting out, no need to call him a liar just because it works for you.

You have a LOT of growing up to do, I suggest you start now.

wow. the buyers "rig" isn't in question, the receiver is. i'm no expert but, if it works in one house then it should work in another.

PFB...I think you were just trying to bash Cody with your OP to make yourself feel better about the whole ordeal....really bad karma.

You admit that it has a broken HDMI port, and still complain about having to refund? I wonder who the liar really is.

I agree with H9. I believe PFB said that he did not test all the HDMI outs prior to sending. Unless he tests every input/output, then he really can't say anything. Also, you shouldn't simply jump to conclusions and say someone is a liar... what if, for some stupid reason, the thing simply didn't work in his configuration? However unlikely that may be, it's still possible. He didn't lie about the hdmi, which was cause enough to return, so why lie about the rest? And even so, does it matter? It seems PFB was pressuring him into getting an hdmi switcher...i wouldn't want that BS if the **** was broken.

If you were the buyer and got a receiver with a broken HDMI port that was not described to you by the seller, to you it's broken, even if the seller told you it worked.

It never worked for you, therefore its broken, regardless if the seller said it worked or not.

i totally agree with the hdmi issue, but i thought the buyer said the unit was cutting in and out. i find it hard to believe that it worked on monday, was broken on tuesday, and the magically worked again on wednesday.
that said, i do agree with the outcome. i too would want all the hdmi ports to work, and would have asked for a refund on that basis.

i think we're talking about 2 different issues here. we all agree that the hdmi port didn't work, but the buyer also said the unit itself wasn't working.

Meh, I just stated what happened when I had the unit. Fact is, the HDMI port does not work, flat out. _I_ am out $50.00 for this, due to you throwing a fit about shipping, a mod even offered to pay for shipping to resolve the issue, but that isn't their place. You packed the item POORLY, with broken foam, and assorted packing materials. If you didn’t have its packing, you should have double boxed it. Quit whining because YOU screwed up and are trying to drag my name, ONCE MORE, through the mud. The avr wasn’t working as advertised, take your whining somewhere else. I feel as I'm the one taking a hit, I paid the shipping to play with a Pioneer for a few days, but I think this shows more the just me here who not to deal with, I think you have shown the whole community. I'll own up to my word without dragging it out into the open, I even took the hit on your screw up. I guess I should have waited a day before submitting feedback, because in the end you almost did the right thing. I thought you we're just going to drop the issue, but here we are AGAIN!

Get over it dude. Your mistake, my loss. Chalk this up to a lesson learned.
