Keep blowing tweeters

Hi Everybody,

I am about to buy my third tweeter for my left SDA-2Bs.
Why does this keep happening?

Could this be a crossover problem?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you listen at obscene levels? You strike me as somebody that knows what they're doing but just making sure.

A better place for this thread might be in troubleshooting.

Some sites are kinda nuts about this.
I figured speakers?

Anyway, I guess I listen at crazy levels sometimes, but probably not obsene levels. Although, sometimes demos and alcohol...
No but really, it always the left for some reason.

No, we're not that anal about it, you would just get better help in troubleshooting as it's checked up on by Polk CS and they would have more knowlege of any common issues and what to do about them.

If it's always the left, then it could be just dumb luck, but it sounds like something is definately not right about it.

Of Course something's not right about it! It's the Left Speaker! :D

ok, sorry...

If it's consistantly the Left Speaker, perhaps that channel in your Amp is going bad and dumping a lot of high-frequency energy into the speak. Or the x-over in that speaker is bad. There's got to be some asymmetry.
