Picking up a set of Sda-1a tomorrow really excited about it. Any input on what to look out or what to upgrade first? I'm willing to put some money into these and this will be my first entry into refurbishing vintage speakers.

Congrats!

It's always a good idea to give new speakers a good listening to first so you can establish a baseline. Pictures grilles off will identify if the tweeters are original. Lots can be done after that.

Your schematic is here . . . http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=31010&d=1201824729

Update I went to pick them up after work and arrived at the sellers house the condition of the speakers was not what I thought. I think they where left in a hot and humid warehouse for ten years according to what he told me. The cabinets had a burn mark on the top and candle wax had dripped all over one. I was suppose to puck them up for 250.00 but after seeing the condition I passed even though he offered for 200.00. One day I will own a pair of Sda this might be a good thing though maybe a better version will one day be up for grabs nearby.
