Hello all,

I have an opportunity to purchase a set of RT2000I speakers locally for $500. They are supposed to be in excellent condition.

Is there a noticeable difference between the RT2000P that I already have vs the RT2000I ??

Is the price right ??

Is this a worthwhile upgrade to "Room 2" in my sig as it will replace my RTi100's ???

Thanks for the input,

Dave

Highs are a little more laid back the RTxxxi's but not drastically so, at least from what I understand. $500 is a little high. Might talk him down to $300. Even then...

Wow, i didn't think RT2000i or RT2000p would sell that low...

I currently have the RT2000p in one room and RTi100 in the other. I just wonder what kind of upgrade the RT2000i would be to the RTi100....

I picked up some 2000P's up locally for 300. I'd rate them at an 8/10 as they were a little dirty and had some minor scratches here and there.
They sound amazing!

Can you a/b your 100's and 2000's?

i don't really have the room to a/b them......i want the ones that are local but the owner won't go below $500, I offered $400 and he turned it down....

$500 is over priced for those. I owned a pair of the RT2000P's. The 'i' version has a different mid driver but I can't imagine that you'll notice much of a difference. Honestly, if you're looking at a different speaker for music, don't spend your money going with a lateral move. Grab a pair of SDA 1C's for right around the same price and you'll not want to listen to your RT2000's ever again...... :)

Thanks for the response.....I am not looking to use them for music, just as an upgrade and eliminate my RTi100's from one of my rooms.

I already have a pair of RT2000P and withe the FX1000 and CS400, they are awesome for home theater....
I am so suprised by the diminished value for a pair of RT2000I in like new condition....In any case, I offered him $400 and he is holding out for $500...too much....he has until Friday to come to $400 or I will just keep what I have....I rarely listen to my set up in room 2 in my sig so I guess I will be saving money....

Yeah, sad to see but it's the reality. I sold my RT2000P's for around $300. You could probably score the RT3000's for not much more than he's asking for his RT2000's. Those are a HUGE step up from the 2000's. Hands down no comparrison betwteen the two (both for HT and music).

You have a great setup. Those FX1000's are amazing surrounds. I sold mine only because the new place doesn't have wall space. Had to go for in-wall's.

Just FYI, it may not be on your radar right now but if you put SDA's in Room 2, you'd be in there a LOT more.

Actually the I series has a redesigned crossover and new mid range driver. I also understood that the tweeter was updated. There is a difference in the way they sound but not drastic. If you like the P models you will love the I model.

500.00 really isn't that much money for a pair of 2000.00 then speakers. I think if they are in excellent condition I would buy them for that price. Never a bad Idea to make an offer but if the seller wants 500 give it to him.

Thanks again for the response...yes i absolutely LOVE my FX1000's, even my FX500's in the other room put out some of the best surround sound i have heard...If i ever came across another good deal on a pair of FX1000's I would jump on it....
