I just have to say how pleased I am with Audyssey XT32 running dual subs.

I went out and picked up a Velodyne VX-11 this weekend as I have been wanting to try out dual subs without breaking the bank, and I was interested in mixing a 10" sub with my eD A2-300 to tighten up the mid-bass a bit.

While the VX-11 is not a high end sub by any stretch of the imagination, it's addition really filled in a few dips I had in my bass curve. The XT32 did such a great job of balancing out these two different subs. I can no longer locate where the bass is coming from, it just fills my room smooth solid bass.

The eD digs nice and deep and the Velodyne gives a nice tight punch.

Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to XT32 for anyone looking for a new receiver as it is more than worth spending a few extra dollars to get a unit with this built in. The Velodyne is a decent sub and all, but how it sounded in the store, compared to how it sounds in my system at home in tandem with the eD, calibrated correctly with the XT32...I've just gotta hand it to the folks at Audyssey.

Yup, its a REQUIREMENT on my next AVR. Looking at a possible refurb Onkyo, but would prefer to wait till Marantz gets their stuff together and offers it in one of their AVR's.

The wife likes the Marantz look more than the Onkyo/Integra/Denon ones which means I have more sway to spend more for a better unit that "looks prettier"

I can't argue with that, the Marantz has a WAY higher WAF than the Onkyo's ugly sharp chin. I do wish that Marantz would include more technology in their receivers, I feel like they are a year behind everyone. If the Denon's have it, I don't understand why they don't offer it in the Marantz line.

Yup, really like the AV7005 and SR6006 (would get the 6006 of the two). It might even be something they can do via a firmware update.... that would rock.

Thanks for the real world insight. I was thinking of the 3008 for a dedicated HT just for XT32 and dual subs.

Good to hear it works as advertised.

If your OK w/ manufacture refurbs, Accessories4less is a manufacture authorized seller of their refurbs. You get a 1 year manufacture warranty and save a ton of cash.

My 808 came from them and at the time funds didn't allow for purchasing the 3008 otherwise I would have.

A referb 3008 is being figured into the budget for a dedicated HT.

I don't have a dedicated HT yet, but the purchase was made with that in mind. I may actually be getting more benefit as my room isn't setup as a dedicated HT, the XT32 really gets a chance to overcome a less than ideal room. The 3008 does everything I want it to, and does it well. I think it really hits the sweet spot for value/performance.

And your big, beautiful gear! My goodness I'd love to get an ear on that setup!

XT32 rocks. My 4311 did wonders with not only my dual subs but also the way the subs/bass interact with the rest of the channels. Everything just blends in so seemlessly.

Realize your response was a few months ago but I have a 5508 and just purchased an Empire. Wondering that you did with the phase on the sub when running XT32.

Thanks,

Nick
