Anyone tried these? I've read some things about them that make them sound interesting.

Hi Quad,
I use the RN series from Dale with excellent results. I believe there was an article in AudioXpress a few years ago comparing different resistors and how each one reacted to transient peaks and the RN did the best job. I recommend using a metal polish on the leads to clean them thoroughly before installing them.
Cheers, Ken

Hey Ken, thanks for the response. I just found Texas Components Corp., and their site says they're the US manf. for Vishay. They also said no minimum. I've emailed them to find out what the availability and pricing are.

I've been using Mills in crossovers, but have read numerous posts stating that metal film is best for audio applications, so we'll see what happens. These would be going in my 2.3 TL xover upgrade.

I have used the Texas Components TX2575 resistors in the output (analog stage) of the DAC I built. They are outstanding!. They have 3 different tolerance ranges, but become extremely increasingly expensive the better tolerance you get. Not sure how they would be in the 2.3TL crossovers though?

I agree, they are outstanding for line level use.

These would work for loudspeakers, but need to be mounted to a heatsink: http://texascomponents.com/pdf/tx220z.pdf

Anyone tried the Dale RN series? I've found someone that can supply those. Otherwise, I'm waiting to hear back from TCC.

The Placette linestages use Vishay resistors. Their webpage has some info...

I'm really looking to use these in a xover network.

I really thought this series of resistors were all used for line level. I know there are a lot of Vishay resistors in my HCA-3500 amplifier. Not sure on their application for Speaker Level Crossover networks.

I believe some of the TOTL B&W's use the TX220Z's mounted on a large heatsink. I'd like to compare them to Duelund.

http://www.caddock.com/Online_catalog/power/power.html I have used the MK series in a preamp project back in the day when I could afford premium passive parts.

DonThe resistors in your amp will in all likelihood be 1/4watt 1%metal film's which ofcourse would be unsuitable for passive crossover use.

Some of those are up there in price too.
