Alright. I'm finally planning on hosting a get-together for us TX guys. I live about 10 miles East of the North I-35E and I-35W split in Denton. Any and all Polkies who want to come are welcome (as well as any gear you want to show off). I'd love to get my ears on some amps since that's probably my next big upgrade in the system.

Date: Oct. 1st (can be moved if there's too much conflict)
Time: Early afternoon
BYOB

I've got a 14 month old son, so the earlier we start, the better it is. Everyone is welcome as long as they want, but we might have to watch the volume knob after dark. I'll throw some burgers on the grill for a late lunch and plan for enough to munch on through the day. Donations and/or food items brought would be greatly appreciated.

As for 2 channel gear, right now I have Peerless M10's, Peerless RTA12's, LSi7's, a Marantz 2216, and a Sansui 1000. I have a 14x12 room that can be demo'd in as well as a larger loft/downstairs living room that can be used as well.

Hey Mister.

This sounds great. I do not have much of anything to bring except myself. I would like to pitch in for this get together. Burgers, Steaks, Wings, Beer, Crown 16, Diapers, you name it. You still have my number?

Halen, I'm pretty sure I don't. My phone broke and I lost a lot of numbers. Nice idea on diapers but not the idea lol. I'm just trying to minimize the food expense on my end.

Russ, I have no idea. Is there a reason she should be?

Everyone bring your drink and ten bucks, simple, we can order up some pies.

Skipper, I just want to meet the woman that can actually tolerate you, she must be a saint. I've never met a real saint, other than George's and Troy's wives.

Look forward to hearing those. Someone make sure Marvin and Jim catch wind. I'll shoot them PM's, but I don't have anyone's numbers anymore. We need some new blood too...

As long as there's a TV with the OU game on somewhere, I'll be happy, and even if there isn't, I'll get by. See you then.

Going to try and make it. Will depend a bit on work, but right it looks clear.

I can bring the easy-as-PI speakers. I also think I have a couple amps that aren't hooked up that I can bring.

Looks like I'll be able to make it late afternoon depending on when/if the Rangers are playing. I have tickets to the game that could be Saturday depending on if they have home field for the first round or not.

I got the easy as Pi's from SucksToBeMe. He might have gotten them from you, I can't remember what he told me ... or were you talking about the Audes?

I had them built a long time ago by a freind of mine. You are the fourth local guy to have them. Pffft I know I will never get the Audes back. THAT is one I should not have sold. ;)

and as always, something for sale:biggrin:

Of course.

So, got a few ideas for food and you guys can let me know what you think:

1. Chicken Fajitas w/ fixings, chips and salsa to munch.
2. Burgers w/ fixings, chips, maybe some dips to go along.
3. Order some pizzas and be done.

#2 and 3 would probably include a pizza dip my wife makes that wouldn't make it through the night. I don't mind grilling, especially if the weather is nice like it has been.

Whatever is works best for you and the wife, I'm good with. Just let me know if you want us to bring anything besides our beverages. If you want to do the shopping, I'll be happy to contribute when I get there.

Looks like I should be able to attend. No way I'm going to work this weekend.

I'll be at my son's baseball game from 11:30-1:30 and then on to The Ballpark for Rangers/Rays. One of these days I'm going to make it one of these get togethers. Very cool of you (and especially your wife) to host Skip. You guys have fun.

DSkip
09-29-2011, 02:01 PM
Enjoy the game Paul. I'd be lying if I said I'd rather be hosting the party than going to the Ballpark, but I'll have the game on. If I had actually thought about it, I probably would've done it last weekend so I could watch it.

My dad watched the Giants win it all last year. I'm hoping he gets to see the Rangers win it this year.

I just found out my dad got tickets for the Rangers game on Saturday, and he wants to tailgate. I won't be able to make it, I was looking forward to meeting some more members of the forum, and listening to some different gear. Next time I will try to make it.

Should be there in about 90 minutes or so (depends on traffic and construction).

Skipper, let's hit up Scott soon for a smash and grab. Thanks again for hosting, we need to make this a regular thing. Your wife? What a dame, I mean that. Your son? A miracle that he looks like you, but doesn't whine at all like you do. Great family, great house, lets focus on getting some hi in your fi broham now that you've settled in.
