7.1 rig What Happens?

Does anyone know how a movie in 6.1ES DISCRETE would play on a seven channel rig?Correct me if I'm wrong ,but if I play a movie with 6.1ES MATRIX on a seven channel rig,the SBL/SBR would play the same material(mono).Now with DISCRETE 6.1 would it be the same as above? or would only one rear surround play?Thanks.

DD, as far as the 7th speaker goes, both DTS Matrix and Discrete would send it the same information as was sent to the 6th speaker.
