I purchased the latest Cd entitled "Comalies" from Lacuna Coil, based souly on Organ's recommendation. I recieved the cd today after work and have gave it the run through.

Having some skipping issues with track 06, which is a shame, it seems to be very promising.

I must say, the quality of this cd is impressive. It is unusual to find a modern rock cd that is acceptable to play on your highly catered to system which reveals the ugliness in bad recordings. Comalies is one of the exceptions. Plug it into your high-end rig, and rock on.

Over-all, the music is killer. While the songs tend to relate to one another in terms of chords, it creates a common theme and synergy throughout the cd. Excellent music to rock out to. Even better music to play in the backround while off doing other tasks.

I was told I would no longer find Evanescence tolerable after listening to Lacuna Coil. Thankfully, I cannot say that is true. The styles of the bands are only vaguely simular. I like them both.

And now to place this cd proudly by my slow growing collection. A big thanks goes out to Organ who led me to this band in the first-place. First class music here.

This cd was purchased off of Amazon.com for $13.99
If you have the extra cash, like modern rock, please, do yourself a favor and pick this up.

Hi Sean,
Glad to hear you're enjoying "Comalies". I agree, the production is great and it must sound awesome on your LSi15. Incase you don't know, it is an Enhanced CD. Stick it in your PC and you'll get a video of their studio sessions. Nothing very interesting in there though.
I actually have two versions of "Comalies". The first is te oiginal and then they released a limited ed box set. You get the black box, a poster of the lovely Christina Scabbia, a Lacuna Coil pin, the CD in a digi pack case and an extra unreleased track from their previous album "Unleashed Memories".

If you like "Comalies", you're going to LOVE their other albums. They're not as heavy as "Comalies" but have a more unique sound and are more atmospheric. The first album is short but it's one of my favortie. A very dreamy album. The second album "In Reverie" is also excellent. IMO, "In Reverie" has the best production. Some songs in there have some sort of a gipsy vibe which is amazing. The third album, "Unleashed Memories" IMO is as good as "Comalies".

Forgot to mention, the skipping thing in track 6 is part of the song. It sounds strange but after a while you get used to it. It's very brief. Keep an eye on the seconds counter on the CD player display.

Sean,
They're from Italy. You might want to check out "In Reverie" next so you can hear what they used to sound like(better IMO). That was their sound before the big change in "Comalies". "Unleashed Memories" is somewhere in between. But of course, their first album is very different too.
