Holy crap I have always wanted one of these for movies and 2 ch until I get a better 2 ch rig .I cant wait for it to get here and hook it up .I almost bought the anthem mrx500 for $1500 yesterday from my local anthem dealer and he had the avm50v for $5400 .The avm is just the same if you decode in the player so thats cool with me if you get great sound for thousands of dollars less
I will try my best not to break it and might have to sell some sh*t if my wife forces my hand but I know she is going to be soooooo pleased when I surprise:cheesygrin: her with more electronics for the living room

I wish you never asked me that tonyb lol
I will be using the emotiva upa5 so I guess I'm going to have to fix that broken binding post after all . I was reading about some guy who hated his upa5 so he bought an anthem pre and ran arc through it and then he said it sounded great

You might want to break something on your Anthem processor for matching purpose

The seller had the anthem listed for $1700 and I offered him $1150 and he accepted without a counter offer .Maybe he just wanted it gone because its 20 days into the ad and its the second month it has been listed. He has great feedback and a long time member so it puts my mind at ease .
My mind was torn between the avm and the dac2 but I guess having the avm will get me by for music until I get funds again .The wife was really cool about me buying it so everything's all good

Well after being happy for a while I found out that the avm50 cannot do arc because it was previously an avm20 that was upgraded So the deals off and I'm back to searching again

What is "arc"?

The room correction software and microphone that does the room correction .I think if you added it to that D2 you had a while back you would never have let it go

Okay. ARC = automatic room correction, or something.
I never had a D2. I use my trusty Radio Shack SPL meter to let me manually adjust each speaker to my specifications.

The deal never went through because the avm20 once upgraded to avm50 cannot run arc.Nor can you upgrade the avm20 to 50v spec apparently its only the 30's and up. You may want to keep that in mind if your ever thinking about uprading that 20 of yours

Wow... for kicks I took a look at Anthem's website and... I'm in love. What a GORGEOUS unit. I want it. Certainly a considerable investment though.
