I'm installing some mm455's in the factory speaker cutouts (doors) where I have very limited depth. Will removing the aluminum cover on the back of the speaker that covers the magent have any dentrimental effects?

If I do this I can get the speakers in without any interference (it's really close).

Jeff,
You can remove the back cover from the driver. This will decrease the mounting depth by about a 1/4 of an inch. Plus the outer diameter if the magnet is smaller than that of the beauty cup.
This will also give you a little more clearance for the window mechanism.
