Why is the LSiC $100 more than the CSi40? I quick review of the specs show that the 40 goes as high as the LSiC and the 40 goes lower than the LSiC. You get 6 1/2" drivers in the 40 and only 5 1/4" drivers in the LSiC. The only difference I can account for the tweeter difference. Is the ring tweeter worth $100 more? Has anyone A/B tested these speakers? Since there's a Great Indoors close by and with CC moving Polk speakers like they had the plague it looks like a good buying opportunity for one of these speaks?

The CSi40 does go quite a bit lower than the LSiC. However as far them having the same higher frequency range, that's a good example of why we don't buy speakers or recievers based of the specs. The LSiC just has a more refinied sound. I love mine. It was an enormous upgrade over the center in the RM7600. I do wish they would make a bigger one though. I want my center speakers to cover my whole tv (a 51" widescreen). :)

Forget the specs, tonal signature and quality of components used is what you are paying for.

agreed, specs are nothing, go listen to them side by side. specs arent really nothing but they arent as valuable as going out and doing an A/B

Yeppers... spec's have a place, but speaker selection is where they have the least impact... IMO.

I'm running the 400i in my setup with my LSi 9's. I thought the Lsic was thin and weak compared to the 400. About the only thing I might do is someday replace the 400's tweet with the Vifa. Other than than I thought the 400 had far more realistic sounding voices , a lot more impact and presence. I have heard other people say that the LsiC sounds wimpy. Some have replaced the crossover, The best idea I have heard is to use the Lsi9 for a center.

STUFFMD. Whereabouts in Ohio are you located? Am dying to audition the LSi9s but no one within 1.5 hours from me has them. I'm in Youngstown/Warren area.

Thanks!

The cs series matches the rt series and the Lsi goes with the Lsi.........what is the question?

What is the point of your question?

What speakers do you own?

If you have Lsi then LsiC is your game.......

If you have rt series then CS is your game....simple.
