Dave Brubeck - La Paloma Azul
Dave on piano, Paul Desmond on alto sax. Recorded live in Mexico, 1967. I can listen to this song and Desmond's sax forever. If I were to pick a song for my funeral, this would be it.

oh my word..... Where can I get more of this. I'm not a huge fan of smooth jazz (absolutely love jazz), but this just feels right with that upright bass.

Miles Davis Quintet. John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. Absolutely phenominal album. I highly recommend the Japanese SHM-SACD.

Many moons ago, there was a late night jazz radio show called Midnight at the Oasis, IIRC, and this was the show's background music.
