View Full Version : Should I replace my Center with CSi40?
Here's my setup:
Mains - RT25i
Center - CS250S Here's the specs on this : CS250S Specs (http://www.polkaudio.com/home/specs.php?category=5&speaker=231&vintage=1)
Surrounds - F/X300i
Back Surronds - Boston CR55
Sub - SVS 20-39 PCi
Receiver - Denon 3801
The front staging seems to be OK, but am wondering if the CSi40 would make it sound fuller. What do you guys think?

hey why not. where ever youre thinking of getting it from is sure to have 30 MBG and test it out. If you dont like it , take it back. I should be upgrading from my 30 to the 40 this weekend. Cant wait!

The price for a 40 is so good right now why not. It will be an improvement, you should get much better midrange performance.
Thanks guys. I'll probably go to CC. Don't think I'll be upgrading in a year, but they're local and have the MBG if I'm not happy. Buying it from Crutchfield, you're almost obligated to keep it because of the shipping costs back.

I know how you feel. I am still doing some work on the wife so i can trade mine in at CC. The only thing is you can only trade it in once.
Well, went to my local CC and they were all out of the CSi40 :( . I was looking at their closeouts and they had RT35i's for $90 each. I was thinking of maybe picking one up to use as a center channel with my system I've outlined above. It should match just fine, but what do you guys think? Anyone using a RT35i as a center?

Bought a pair of RTi38's last night for $71 a piece. (floor models) Been thinking alot about getting RTi 250's and CSi40 to match the 38's and FXi30's I picked up last month. My RT800's and CS350 still sound good, but WTF.

Yes the 40 will sound much better than your 250.
