Plays fine on our older lgbd550,on the newer lgbd640 all we get is error.
Tried looking it up online, nothing helpful, nothing in owners manual.
Hoping something i can try before moving furniture, yanking bd players, swapping them out so we can play this in the ht.
Any advice app.

If you'd go into to more detail about what the 'eff you are talking about, maybe someone can help. I have no idea what jumbled sentences in your original post are even talking about. Stream of consiousness posts don't go over too well anywhere.

Assuming it's a BluRay and it might be a firmware issue with the player.

See, I thought he was talking about a TV, but I admit I don't follow HT too much so perhaps I am out of touch about what he's asking. Your post made it click for me Fred. It's weird there was nothing on the internet. Usually if it's problem someone somewhere has posted about it.

Agreed, there's a good chance that is the issue...

thanks rick and ftgv, you are correct, the bd i refer to is a blue ray disc player.
The error message only comes up on the newer lg blue ray disc player i mentioned, plays fine on older lg blu ray disc player, not really well informed on diff. between software (which i immediately checked when the disc wouldnt play, there are no software updates available right now) and firmware.
I will try to gather some info off the internet regarding firmware, and whether this might be something i can do that will help.
Thanks again rick88 and ftgv

Is there an option in the menu to clear persistant storage? There is in the Oppo players, and sometimes doing that will solve disc playing issues as well.
Is the disc itself a bluray?Does the unit play other bluRay disc's without issue?

I dont think you can clear persistent storage with this unit.
It is a blu ray disc, no issues with other br discs.
BTW, just checked lg site, there are firmware updates for this player to download, however, for some reason, just lately our computer, using windows vista has begun to repeatedly just showing you download history, and asking if you want to save or run the download, along with a list of recent downloads to the comp.
Im not asking for computer advice, i will get together with friend tomorrow to work this out, you have no idea how lost i am when it comes to computers, just saying this is keeping me from downloading firmware right now, as well as manual for my adcom gfp750.
Its on the computer, but when i doubleclick or right click, it gives me that same prompt, over and over, run or save when you click on either, it just asks again.
Anyway, appreciate the advice.
It is a blu ray disc, no issues with other br discs.
Then most likely firmware related.
