Okay! This forum software promises to be da bomb. (Is that phrase still hip, or am I totally out of it?) No more squishy posts, no more unreadable threads.

With this new forum, it's easy to edit your posts if you make a mistake; simple to give yourself a fun personal "signature"; a snap to choose which forums and even which forum members you prefer as "favorites" (you can set up "buddy lists" to find out when your friends are online -- or set it up so you can "lurk" anonymously), and you can even keep track of how many posts you post (there will be no prizes, alas).

To do all that, click on PROFILE above the navigation structure right up there on the left.

Let's all keep in mind that this is a chance to begin again. To right past wrongs. To reinvent ourselves. To be forgiven for past transgressions. To make amends and start over. You get what I'm saying, right? I don't have to draw you a pitcher, do I? Let's all just get along.

Most of all, HAVE FUN!

Micah

I dunno if I like being refered to as a Polkie. I vehemently insist on being a Polk-er only.

Whats that troydion? I always known ya as 'Troy'....

Yeah, I'm not hip on being a 'Polkie'. Sounds to feminine.

Justin is probably shaking his head going 'why me'......

Yeah, what's up wit dat J? I kind of liked being Troy. This troydion guy can be a real arse.

When I think of Polkie I think of either a Sci-Fi character or a "reciever" if you catch my drift. Rather not be associated with either column......

Sorry, there is already another registered user with the name Troy. If I gave you that option, it would probably get messy. But I would be more than happy to make it something else.

Also, just so's you know, the little "Polkie" appellation (sound of scrambling for dictionaries) will change as you post more and more. Nifty, huh? Someday, you may be a "Polk Master."

I am about to throw down a tantrum of epic proportions. How come Russ isn't a Polkie and I still am, what the heck???

....Micah's 'lets get into it post'?

All tryin to change the subject.....I was going to bomb over there, but figured I'd let it ride, or let someone else go first...

I just wish Polkio (MC) would put a catch phrase in his signature that actually applied DIRECTLY to audio, or even something funny....not just a 'brown nose marketing catch line' to show the 'big boys' when they ask 'how is the new forum working, lets see some posts'

Cheers,
Russ

TroyD
07-05-2001, 03:49 PM
but I am not standing for brown nosing of any sort until I am no longer a Polkie (think they might get the hint?)

I figure the first day is a write-off anytime you start up a new system so I say "bombs away!"

I wish mine could be 'SuperFly TNT'......

TroyD, what M and J don't understand is that Paul and Ken sent us the emails reminding us to try to load the new system up, and write our performance reviews of how M and J handle it all....

No more free lunches....

I actually didn't post for a long time because I was uncomfortable with the new style. The older one was very nice for me. I wonder what I would think about it now? When I first saw this post I said NOT AGAIN. Then I said #^%$^@#$%&%$&%^@#.

12-01-2002, 08:41 AM
They just changed this, WTF!!!! :supermad: . I'm in agreement with Mantis. This forum works very well. Why do people feel the need to change things if they work fine the way they are? I suppose they feel the need to have something that blocks all content like the new AOL and MSN. I think they should have an age limit here anyway and block off access to this forum for anyone under 18!!. :D

This was the first post when the forum went to the current version. Seems to get brought back up whenever there is a change to the forum.

I also thought since today is Fabio, er, Micah's last day, a fitting tribute. Micah brought a real sense of community to Polk Audio rather than it being just another corporate giant. I for one, hope that spirit will continue.
