currently i have polk dx 5.25 components up front. they have great midrange, but the mid bass is not that great. i was wondering if you would recomend putting an 8 in dx sub up front to help fill in. maybe bandpassed at 80hz-250hz?? any sugestions? also if i did something like this, since its over 80hz would it be omni-directional....?
Before installing the dx8's, try inverting the phase on both 5.25"
drivers. This should improve the mid-bass response from them.
If you decide on using the dx8's. make sure that the sealed box volume for each woofer is .33 to .35 cubic feet. The higher the frequency, the more directional it will become. At this low of frequency it won't too directional.
