I was at a pawn shop and saw a nice looking oak turntable. The brand to my surprise was Minolta. I could not find a model number but it did say Micro on the dust cover.
It looked like it had a decent weight adjustable tone arm and had a heavy rubber coated aluminum platter. It looked direct drive but I am not sure.
Does anyone have any information on these turntables? My guess is 80's vintage. I might buy it just for the novelty.
Thank you.

Never heard of a Minolta turntable. Micro... Might be Micro Seiki. Can you get a pic?

Micro Seiki was rebranded by several companies. It's probably a good table to get if the price is right.

If it is indeed a Micro Seiko re-badged it is probably a decent TT. Micro Seiko made some good stuff.

Sorry about the resolution. Blackberry in a pawnshop. You get what you get.

The table appears to be Micro Seiki origin, one of their lower end. Still a nice table. A headshell will run you about 80. So use that for a bargaining chip.

Looks to be a Micro Seiki Solid-5 w/ servo belt drive from the '70s. Pretty nice little table. I'd love to have one. Missing the headshell I might give in the neighborhood of $200 for that one if the rest appears to be in good condition.

Very nice. I've always loved the simple, minimalist but functional look of Micro Seikis. Those are gorgeous.
