Pulled the trigger on a pair of the LSim703 Cherry...

So I had a small balance of Polk bucks combined with the irresistible 6 payment financing just made this too good to be true.
Next up would be the matching center channel.
My only concern is the integration of either LSi9's or 7's as the surround channels when watching movies.
Now to hurry up and wait :cool:

Movies won't make much difference but 5-chnl/SACD's may be off (fun trying though)...if you don't have the rears...-7's are the route I would take for the rears for movies and save the $$$ for other gear

Please give us your thoughts on how they integrate once you've had a chance to listen. I've considered upgrading my front stage to the LSiM at some point in the future, but probably wouldn't be able to upgrade my surrounds until much later.

Nice! I have a pair of RTA-12's, they're awesome. Those 703's sound very different than the 12's. I'm interested to hear your impressions of the differences. I prefer the 703's. :biggrin:

Same basic reaction as with the LSi9s - the soundstage thrown by the RTA-12s is just amazing. Close your eyes and you feel like there is a wide stage of musicians in front of you. I like that a lot. But all the details are better with the 703. The 12s sound hollow by comparison. The 12s go lower, but since I have a sub with dual 10s (haven't turned it on yet), I think that isn't too relevant. The bass on the 703s is excellent - very clear and detailed. I'm guessing that if I was comparing 707s with the 12s, I wouldn't find anything to admire. Hope to check some out at some point.

I will be parting with the 12s with some regrets about never seeing what a crossover refresh could do for them. But as you can see in my pic, they didn't fit too well in my living room.

I will also miss being able to pull off that hat and show off those fancy Real Time Dual Isophase crossovers.

Oh, and the 12s, though 4 ohm, are much more efficient than the 703s.

Let those 703's get about 40-50 hours on them then report back. What are you running them with and what size room?

The 703s are used but pristine, so it's likely that they are not fully broken in. I have to say that they are a very elegant design. I like the way they look. I will probably pick up some Sanus steel series stands for them. I'm using a Pioneer Elite SC-25. I'm not sure if yet if I'm going to keep it and and use the LSi9s and LSiC for a 5.1 setup or go to separates or a high-end integrated with just stereo and sub. There isn't really enough room to properly setup rear channels, but I want to try it anyway. Overall I'd say it's a small room, but it opens into a dining room.
