Is there a "correct" height to place a center channel? Should it be placed above or below the TV?
I am about to purchase a BDI Vector stand and I would be forced to place my Polk CS400 below the TV. This would result in my center channel at 15-16 inches from the floor.
Should I be concerned?

Not really. Try using a couple of rubber door stops to angle the speaker upwards if the dialogue seems to be comming from below the screen.

A general "rule of thumb" is to have the tweeter of your center within 2 feet, either above or below, the tweeters of your main speakers.

That being said, real world restrictions (read WAF) and room dimensions will often dictate where your center channel goes. Case in point, I flush mounted my Csi40 above my Sony XBR40. This actually puts it about 4.5 feet above my Rti8 tweeters. It sounds great, IMO.
