We all know the stock one is horrible. Whose EQ app are you using and what's it called? Free, not free, makes no difference.
I thought this might be a good reference thread for the folks with Apple's portable devices. Mac desktop and laptops are a different ballgame (unless the same amp works on the phone)
Looking forward to seeing what folks are using...

What is an EQ app?
An app you can run on while playing the stock music app on your iDevice and customize/adjust the frequency response on your phone. Similar to how you use tone controls on a stereo receiver....

Didn't know you could do such a thing. I've got my ipod & iPhone set to "Jazz" because, for my ears, it's the best eq. setting. I'm interested to know where this thread goes!

What is the function of the iphone/ipod? If music is being transfered thur USB to AVR, there should be a need for an app to EQ because the internal iphone/ipod DAC is being bypassed. Used with Losssless Apple files in this fashion should be just fine.
I would not run any audio from the jack unless it is on a set of headphones while at the gym.
