After reading everything I could about those Vanderstein 2ce sigs they would be the speakers to get at $12-14hundred.But since I still do not have that kind of cash I did see these Polk RT-12s that the guy is throwing in a sub in the deal.So once again not knowing anything about these, at $150 and of course up close inspection/condition aside would these be something to go after.

You posted the return email link, not the ad link. For $150 I would probably go have a look! What sub is included?

Yea,I know I'm still a moron at c/p.The sub is a Pioneer HTP102 as a throw in. The add has been up since Sat. They are still there and the guy said 1. they are in great shape and 2. there is wiggle room off the listed price of $150 for the Polks and the sub. It's a listed phone # central Jerset C/L.

Why don't you just save up the money and buy what you really want?

I used to own the larger RT16's and they were amazing, I'd buy another pair just to have them around.

Mainly because there's zero chance of saving any cash and I have to find bargins were they are.Secondly I still haven't decided on exactly what I want even if I had the money.Snell,Klipsch Heritage,Polk towers,Vandersteens. All great speakers w/ their own characteristics and pros/cons but all cost more than what I can afford, so the circle goes around..

First off, here is the ad. http://cnj.craigslist.org/ele/3158754216.html

Second, They will sound better than most of your speakers but may not have the low end power you may be after. They were designed for Home Theater but sound very good for music as well. They look to be in good shape. And the price is good for them. That pioneer Sub is unpowered.

DO NOT COMPROMISE. If you want the vandy's, save until you can get the Vandy's. Why cry twice?

If you don't have any money and you can't save any money, why are you even looking and asking for advice?

No, the RT12's won't be in the same league as the Vandy's, but if you don't have the money and won't have the money for a long time, then why look, wonder and ask.

Being on the Merry-Go-Round will only make you dizzy.

BTW, I think your choice (Vandersteen) is excellent. This tends to be a "journey ending" speaker for many people.

I'm in the camp of save the coin. If your constantly looking in the 150-200 buck range, your just going in circles. Besides, should you really be even buying speakers if you can't save money as is ? Other expenses will pop up out of the blue and best to have some coin to fall back on.
