Just writing to see how many Polkies live close by Baltimore or would be willing to drive a little ways. The reason being is the Senator Theater here in Baltimore will be running the Directors cut extended versions of the first 2 LOTR movies (FOTR & TTT) starting in early December, leading up to an all day event the day before the release of Return of the King. Actually, this week they start showing the Matrix: Revolutions.

The Senator is the only theater in Maryland to be chosen to show the extended cut versions of these movies.

Not sure how many or if any of you guys have ever been to the Senator. If not, it's worth the trip! It really is one of the best theaters in the country. Here is a link to the theater's website. Talk about soundsystems and video presentation...hands down perfection!

If we get a good gathering and nail down some days to see the movies, I could go by the theater and get tickets in advance since they not sold over the internet.

Hope to see a big turnout from Polkies and perhaps some Polk employees.

Ok guys, Mark and Jesse are in so far. We gotta work fast at this since tickets are already on sale for these shows.

Here is what I'm proposing.

Sundays at the 2:30 showings would probably be best for everyone. Say Sunday 12/7 for FOTR and Sunday 12/14 for TTT? I know it's a little far in advance, but I have to know within the next 4-5 days since as I said, tickets are already on sale and go really fast. The theater holds 900 people, but it sells fast!

PLEASE, if you say you're going, then please go. I'm shelling out the cash for the tickets and don't want to get stuck trying to scalp these to people out front the theater.

Hope to see you there!

John

Thanks for the invite. It sounds real tempting but that is a 4hr drive and there is no gurantee I won't have to work.mmmmmmm
Sorry, I can't commit. Maybe if it was the holly Trilogy of Star Wars I would.

I'm about 45 minutes south of Baltimore. Going to have to look at the calender.

I have cousins in VA. I also spent some time out that way(MD/DC/VA) a little over a year ago. My fiance lived in NW DC on Mass Ave, she worked in Tacoma(sp?). I loved it down there. I looked for a job for a while but, none were to be had(financial services) at the time, bad timing w/the economy. She decided to move back home(boston area) anyway.

If it were just different movies! I couldn't sit through 1/2 hour of LOTR. I know it's good stuff, just not for me.

Bumping this to the top.

Anyone else want to join our group?

I'll most likely get the tickets this Sunday for both upcoming shows. SO...if you're in for both or only one, let me know by Sunday morning. Post here or better yet, send me a direct email.
