Poor sound with GXR4

I replaced some blown factory speakers with GXR4s. The enclosure is a ported box in a toyota corolla. The sound is very "tinny." Suggestions?

gxr4 -- that's a coaxial speaker isn't it?

if so - why is it in a ported box?

and i'm not surprised it sounds crappy -- its entry level, its not supposed to sound great -- its supposed to sound only a smidge better than factory but be durable as well.

try an EX III or dB junior or if you've got deeper pockets, a momo coaxial.
