View Full Version : Grilles on or off?

Does anyone prefer the sound of the RTi series speakers with the grilles off? I tend to keep them on due to the pet and kid destructive factor, but they seem to sound nice with the grilles off. Any thoughts or comments?

Hi Danny, actually the grill is designed to improve sound. The bezal and the grill will act as a difuser. But if you think it sounds better off, go with it. What size is your room? If you have a smaller room it may sound better off.

Can't say I can really tell a difference with them on or off. Arn't they supposed to be transparent anyway?

Grilles on the RTi Series are designed to "disappear." Any diffraction or interference they may cause has been effectively nullified by the raised bezels and the design of the grille parts.

But I keep my 55i's naked, just cause they look cool with those blue cones! (Plus, of course, I just like naked stuff.)

Micah,
Do you fondle your naked speakers, or are they just eye candy to you?

the rti's do look good naked...

i take mine off while listen, put the grilles on when not listening to keep them a little more dust free.

Ron, is this the same as 'shaved' or 'unshaved'?

Sure Lee, I think we can draw a parallel here.

you guys are missing the point....if (and for some) this is a big IF, you get to the point where you could actually determine the status of shaving, are you going to be that dissapointed either way?? Personally, I prefer neat and groomed.

I think my speaks look better with the decor with the grilles on.
