Skeptical myself. Maybe it works but I doubt it would rival a properly set up HT rig and you're stuck with their electronics.

Altec Lansing and DCM both made similar products in the late 90's.

Both failed somewhat miserably, nothing 'new' here to see.

The USA Today review comes from some dork with a Sony Dreamtheater all-in-one system and quotes Bose as having "Cinematic Performance"

Yeah, he's a qualified audiophile!

There is a similar product being offered from ADS at this time, and that crowd has never made a bad product.

You can do a lot with processing and "fooling" the ear and brain. But sooner or later physics and the laws of audio engineering are going to kick in.

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.. but you might be able to make a passable wallet.

Lot of people probably don't want all the shit associated with HT messing up their living environment. Could be a product for them. The ADS product I think was $329 at www.technoscout.com

Could it POSSIBLY be worse than a Wave Radio? No.

It's not for me, it's not for you, but it doesn't make it not for somebody, or uninteresting.

Those are ex-German rocket guys over there. It doesn't get much better than that.
