I know this is going to sound funny given my screen name, but do any of you know about CC drug testing?
I'm a wuss and I hate blood tests. Is it a piss test or a blood test?

They make you piss on a set of Bose speakers. If you miss and hit any of the others then you don't get the job.

Edit:
Oh yea,
One of my friends said it was a piss test when he applied.

Buck up Rush, what's a blood test compared to all the bending over they'll have you doing.

So, it sucks working there?

depending on the store managers it can suck or be half decent, my store sucked so if you're in fort wayne IN you're outa luck. It is a Piss test however... don't know of any jobs that use a blood test...
Rush,
Man up, and face it. ;) While I signed agreeing to have one conducted...... no one has confronted me about it.
Madmax,
I wish---God do I wish.
I will have to concur with MTX.... depends on the store, the department your in, and the managers. Personally, I can't stand the place. My store has a very VERY high turn-over rate...
However, some people (in stores out of state) have nothing but good to say. Its a hit or miss type deal.

I'd want to work in the Warehouse anyhow.

I heard somewhere that if you work in the warehouse they did a bend over search each evening before you leave. I guess they are afraid you might stick a 46" widescreen in there... :D
Just kidding.

warehouse ain't bad cause you often have fairly long periods of downtime during the day when you can just sit on a box in the back drinking a pop... those were the days... although you're comin up on black friday (day after thanksgiving sale) that day sucked more than i can describe... getting ready for it sucked even more. that wednesday i moved about 4 tons of merchandise getting ready for the sale... literally at least 7000lbs were moved by me i added up weights ;D. on black friday within 1.5 hours we had loaded about 250, 113lb 27" apex tv's... not to mention all the computer packages and other stuff... IT WAS HELL... shortest shift was 12 hours that day too, i had 14 and the longest was 16... went home and collapsed... Bigscreens are a bitch too... but nothin is worse than the 40" sony Wega that tv weighs about 400lbs if my memory serves me right... best part about black friday... laughing at the people as they literally run into the store... i'm gonna go in about 6pm just to taunt all my old coworkers with the fact that i get that day off paid ;D

I'm a steel worker right now. I have been for 6 years, working for my dad. I'm just looking to get a job at CC for some extra cash and deals on Polk stuff and TV's.

discounts are sweet :D the two best tv's you can get are the sony 50" and 60" grand wega's each one is 2g off at cost. MM6 comp set for car is 150 at cost with service plan. cables are dirt cheap too. and any accesory (cd case, cd's, printers, etc.) are priced so low you won't believe it.
When i was working there i got an antena cord extension for a friends car. priced at $10 cost was under a buck
Uhhh MTX..... tell me, how is it cheap? There are no more "at cost" benefits...

I enjoyed it quite a bit at my original store, but when I moved, the new store was horrible. If you have more than one near you, I would recommend talking to the employees, to see if they are happy or not.
Be prepared to get raped on pay though; since the sales staff are no longer commission, they are starting people off at barely over minumum wage.

when did they nerf the cost benefit?? it was there under a year ago when i left and 2 weeks ago when i had a friend look up a price for me? could it just be your store? if so you may want to get in touch with corporate on that.
MTX,
They axed it roughly two weeks ago, give or take. I may get in touch with coorperate on that......

I already filled out the app. I should get a job. I think I'd still like to work there anyways. You still get discounts, and you could always make yourself some 'open box' items. ;)

Yeah the "at cost" benefit is gone. However, we still get "accomodations" directly from Polk and Monster (which I am taking full advantage of).
MTXMAN

the accomodations were normally below cost anyway :D that and at least for a while polk offered us the LSi line via accomidations, don't know if they still do or not...
