As most of you know on the Vr3 Vine of Shadows, I have been lurking the past week. No reason particularly. Also you know that I have come across a free pair of Pioneer speakers and receiver. All 15 years old, which I will later comince to restore and get back into shape to run in the vintage rig. All this though is after my next biggest purchase. A subwoofer. A SVS to be exact.

The question now is what? My funds are entirely open now, having nothing else to buy. I have a CD Player, I have the receiver, I even have extra speakers. The question is what can I buy for what I can get...

Overkill is not in my mind, and shall not become a vision, I am going for future.

Choices, we all have them and here are mine that I have decided on

1) SVS PCi 20-39
2) SVS PCi 25-(?)+
3) SVS PB2 ISD

I am really leaning towards the PB2 ISD, however the SVS PCi 25-(?)+ which uses a higher quality driver, and a similar powered amp. Could this single woofered subwoofer compare with the dual woofered beast? Can it? That is my question, the SVS PCi 20-39 is there incase I can't make the cut, the cut to get the others.

Right now it is a question, what is better, what sounds better, what blends better, what is better?

Thank you for all advice, no flame wars aloud, no questioning of opinions, or comments on the rules of the post. I have my reasons, goodday all. BTW - Can all members that wish to respons please PM them all to me, and leave this thread empty. Thank you for that and thank you for your comments.

If you have room for the box, go that route. That way you wont keep wondering what it would have been like to get "better"..

I'm too lazy to PM.

The PB2-ISD will outperform a 25-31 PC-Plus. Get the box if you can fit it in the room.

Considered DIY? seems like you could get PB2+ performance and still stay in your price range.
