Just Got my PB1, OMG! Honestly, you guys are nuts...

I just posted the same message on hometheaterspot, but I thought I would put it here too since I am soooooo happy with the PB1...

I am 193% AMAZED with my PB1-ISD. No one ever talks about the PB1, like its a red headed step child or something. Let me just say, I could not EVEN begin to imagine getting anything more than this! You have to be a real HT nut, I guess, to need a PB2-ISD and even the Plus! Wow!!!!! Grinning from ear to ear. My head is pounding right now from testing this thing out. I guess I should have not been right next to it! Ha ha ha.

Also, I got it out of B-Stock, and to be honest, they could have sold it to me as Retail and I would have never known the difference! So if anyone has ever wondered about B-Stock quality, I will stand witness that it is, well, like I said, I would have bought it thinking it was shrink wrapped new.

I can't wait to get everything calibrated and going! Wow. I knew I was making the right choice when I selected SVS! THANKS to everyone who stood behind SVS! Now I have a real sub! I kind of splurged on the sub, since I saved so much money on my other components! Tell me what you think: I started out about three weeks ago with NOTHING. I was looking for am all in one setup, in the box, and then thought, I could piece something together. And Oh my, I even almost bought Bose! Uh oh. What was I thinking. Then I found this place, and discovered Circuit City Open box! For the same $1000 I was going to spend on just the Bose AM10 III speakers I ended up spending only $1100 for EVERYTHING!!!! Which includes:

FOUR Polk Rti38 ($49.99 ea)
Polk Csi30 ($129)
Onkyo TX-Sr501 ($179.99)
SVS PB1-ISD ($549)

Total: $1057.95 Plus about $100 in shipping and taxes!

And I bet this sounds better than ANY bose system you can put up to it! Again Thanks to everyone who helped me out and responded to all of my questions!

Damn, thats a nice starter setup you got going there. $50 a pop for each of the RTi38's is better than I've ever seen.
Thanks for posting a response on the PB1. I am thinking about going down the SVS road here soon, and I don't think I can justify the beastly PB2, so its nice to hear such good things, so far, of the PB1.
Keep us up to date on what you think of it as you get to spend some more time with it.

Awesome. Glad you are loving the PB1. It's a great subwoofer, and the equal of the famed PCi cylinders.

You have a great starter system the puts many other so-called HT systems to shame.

If you have ANY questions on SVS set-up or bass management, let me know. Here's a primer:

all speaks to small
80 Hz xo in the Oink
Oink sub level to around -5
sub out to left or right in on the SVS
filter switch to Disable on SVS
adjust SVS volume at plate amp when calibrating
if needed, fine tune sub level with Oink, but leave it in the negative region (-6 through -3 for example)
calibrate the SVS only a few dB hot for HT and FLAT for music

Congrats on the sub. When you get the settings right you will feel the difference, especally when you watch U571 and K19. These two movies really give the listener a good idea of just how impressive the SVS really is. They have the ability to really pressurise the room and there are parts in those that are almost unaudible but can be felt (very impressive) give them a try when you got it setup.

K19 - WOW!

One of the few DVDs where the 2/20 tune actually can be felt as an improvement over the 3/25 tune when the sub breaks through the ice. LOTS of infrasonics in that passage.
