I hate to sound like a schmuck but how do you hook these things up? Both ends have 4 connectors (Red & Black- High pass + Red & Black-Low pass). My homemade biwires had 4 connectors on the speaker end but only 2 (red&black) on the receiver side. Is there some type of adapter that I need to reduce the 4 connectors on the receiver side down to a single red and a single black connector? I greatly appreciate any advice!

Just twist the high and low + together on the amp side and the same for the - . Then put the seperate connections on the speaker side.
Best of luck

Both sides have 4 soldered banana plugs on them already. So what I was wondering is there a way to hook up the amp side without reterminating the existing banana clips?

I see not sure if there is an adapter for that. I'm sure someone on here can tell you if there is.

the person before you must have had a bi-wire capable amp. I am assuming the banana plugs aren't stackable? (You can't plug one into the other?) If they are not then I really can't think of a way to do that effectively, I would reterminate 1 set with a stackable banana plug and then plug the existing banana plugs into that.

good luck.

p.s., I happen to have a bi-wire capable amp, so you are welcome to solve your problem by sending them to me :D

What about cutting all 4 banana plugs off of one end. Then connecting both reds and both blacks and terminating it with 1 red and 1 black monster quick lock bananas. Do I need to solder them or will the screw attachment (with a little heat shrink on the end) do the job?

I would thing the connector would be good enough. It was recomended to me that I DO NOT solder the ends together (amp side) on my AudioQuest biwires.
Hope this helps

That is not true M1.4 bi-wire. M1.4 has 4 ends on one side and two on the other. It has screw on connectors, spade or banana, which you have to buy separately.

What you have sounds like standard 14-4 bi-wire cable, which Monster also makes.

In that case, yes - you can connect +to+ and -to- at the amp end and use a QD banana. You don't need to solder.

At the other end, just use four bananas.

I just checked the ebay web page that the auction was on. The seller wrote that these were custom made for him a couple of years ago. I am also looking at the wire at it has "M series . M1.4s . Multiple Bandwith Precision Wound Speaker Cable by MONSTER CABLE . US Patent # 4,734,544 . 1ft." written about every other foot on the cable. My guess is that he had them custom terminated. Oh well, I missed that part and I gues I will just have to reterminate them! Thanks for everyones help!
