Hi,

I was wondering opinions on this. I have a chance to upgrade from my PSW303 sub to the PSW505. After all is said and done the psw505 would cost me around $250 (after I have sold the PSW303).

My question is should I do this or wait a while for my ultimate goal of purchasing an SVS PB1? Will I hear much difference going from the 303 to 505? My room size is about 18" x 15" x 8".

Thanks a lot!
Jeff

Sam - Save your money, whether its an SVS or another brand. If I can stick it out with my pathetic PSW202, so can you :D I would love to have a better sub, but figure I will save up and wait.

I am not positive, but I think Polkthug/ Dr. Spec, had mentioned the 505 is not a bad subwoofer due to the slot loaded effort....they could clarify that fact.

There is no comparison between the 505 and the 303, the 505 is far superior. If you are used to a 303, you would be very happy with a 505.

However, you could probably also say that there is no comparison between the SVS and the 505, the SVS is far superior. (I can't say that because I've never had an SVS in my theater room)

Spec wise, the SVS will hit lower bass, and SVS owners are very happy with their purchases.

So, I'm sure you would be very happy with a 505 today, but you may be happier with an SVS 90 days from today.

The PB1-ISD will have an edge in output and extension over the 505.

With that said, the 505 looks on paper to be a fine sub, with a beefy looking 12" driver with a high roll surround, 300 watts of BASH amp, power port and slot loading.

Someone in the forum is using twin 505's stacked and that's just gotta be some pretty decent bass - twin 12" and 600 watts.

That Is a call you have to make If you FULLY plan on steping up the othe SVS in the future and only want the 505 as a fill in. I personaly would sit tight and get what you want the first time. think of it as $250 to the good already. If you go with the 505 it will just delay the SVS that much longer.
It's up to you but as I said if it was me I would wait and get the one I realy want the first time.
