Just wondering but where do you guys think the Polk Audio RTi70 stands compared to the Paradigm Monitor 7 V.3?

I actually like the Paradigm's. Never had the chance to compare them side by side with RTi70's though. If you get the chance take a pair of each home and give em a test drive.

I have RTi70 and I am happy with them. But I've heard some good things about the Monitor Series from Paradigm, especially if you are in Canada.;)

I have used both the RTi series and the Monitor series (v2 and v3). They are both excellent speakers. The Monitors aren't finished nearly as nicely as the RTis but they are both built very solidly. You cant lose either way but they do have their own sound. It is a matter of which sound you prefer not which is better IMO. Have a listen to the Monitor line when you go listen to the 2200.

I will make sure I do that.;)

Personally, I would take the Monitor 7, but not by leaps and bounds. The 7 is a 2.5 way design, which (imo) results in a little tighter low end, and a little better midrange (ala Polk LSi, but RT remains a 2-way network).

Problem is, I don't care for ANY of P-dime's matching center channels. I'd rather have a CS300/245/i30.

Time to get your listen on broham, then report back.

Cheers,
Russ

Russman,

I've got a Paradigm CC-170 V.3 and it seems pretty good for movies. But when playing 5 channel stereo it sounds really enclosed, not open. Is this just the signal that is being sent to speaker from the receiver?

Last time I was at my dealer I was listening to the Paradigm Phantom V.3 and they sounded very good. Warm sound with fairly decent base and clean sounding treble for the price. I sort of felt disappointed with the performance of my Polk Audio RTi70. And the demo room was much larger than my room. Could something be wrong here or is it just my tastes?

With the way the Phantoms performed I really expect the Monitor 7 to be something.
